Update from Lori

Hello Family!
I'm sure everyone is excited for the upcoming family reunion at bear lake. I just wanted to get everyone on the same page about food. I will be bringing some bagels and cream cheese and fruit for breakfast Saturday. If anyone wants to bring anything else to add to it, feel free, but we should have breakfast covered (unless you are on the low carb diet). We are not planning on a scheduled lunch. I'll bring some snacks and you can bring some snacks of your own to contribute if you'd like. I know everyone will be busy enjoying the beautiful lake. As for dinner - we'll do a barbecue. Bring your own meat (steak, chicken, fish, porkchops, whatever..) and bring one side to share.
As for the entertainment portion of our weekend. Since there will be mostly adults on this trip, we can probably avoid the dress-up game. :D I would like to propose a poker game - $5 buy in, tournament style. Everyone is welcome to participate. Lastly - the white elephant gift exchange will occur as well. As you remember from last year - bring a funny/unusual/interesting gift, wrapped, to exchange on Saturday. We had a lot of very interesting gifts! If you would like to participate in the gift exchange, please bring a wrapped gift for every member of your family that is going to take a gift.

Can't wait to see you all there!

Reunion 2010

Dear Family,

I hope you all enjoyed the holidays and are starting to think about plans for our reunion. July 16, 17 & 18th are going to be here before we know it.

Vickie and I have been working together and at this time, we may not have as many attending as we initially planned. There is still time so I hope that will change. I have loved the success we have had with the past reunions and hope that we can continue to make it appealing to everyone. Changing the location to Bear Lake this year is going to cut down travel time and expenses for those who live in Oregon and Idaho. I would appreciate any input you can make so that we can keep the tradition going.

I am not familiar with Bear Lake or any of the resorts there. I have spent a significant amount of time trying to find one large cabin where we can all gather for meals and other gatherings. Sherry has a timeshare which she and Jim will be using and I was so glad to find out it is located very close to one of the options I was working with. Staci and Jerry also have a timeshare which they will be use. We will be staying at the south end of Bear Lake at a place called Harbor Village right off highway 89 and very close to the marina and beach.

The place I have rented is not a cabin, but actually a townhouse. It is the best option and also the best price. It has three levels, 3 bedrooms and will sleep 20. It has a large kitchen, 2 decks overlooking the lake and the marina and a gas BBQ. It does not have the rustic appeal of a cabin but does have all the amenities that will make out stay very comfortable. I am including the website. http://www.bearlakelodging.com/ where you can find maps, directions, all lodging, events and more.

Lori has volunteered to be our entertainment committee. We will have a few new cooks with us this year so it will be another great time for adding a few more inches to my waist and hips.

Looking forward to another great year,

Aunt Kathy
